GHANA ROCK

In Ghana, there are about 7,000 little boys working as child slaves on Lake Volta.
It's cheaper for fishermen to buy a child at the rate of $20 a year to bail water out of their boats than it is for them to just get their boats fixed.
Children cost $20. Fishing nets cost $200.
Many times fishermen will make these young boys swim underwater to untangle the fishing nets.
Many become entangled and drown.
A fishing net is of more value to these fishermen than a human life.

Let that sink in as you keep reading...

About 10 months ago, I was sitting in my best friends kitchen when out of nowhere, she turns to me and says, "I want to plan a benefit concert to rescue child slaves in Ghana!" My first reaction was surprise, and my second reaction was laughter. "how in the world would we be able to pull that off?" I asked her doubtfully.

10 months later, here we are - 3 days away from successfully putting on this huge event that no one ever dreamed would have come as far as it has. My only explanation for its success? GOD.

That little idea that originated over breakfast small talk has turned into a city wide event with the potential to attract an audience of over 2,000 people. from the very start, God has gone before us, paving the way for us throughout this crazy concert planning journey. We call it GHANA ROCK. This Friday night, May 13th at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC, a room will be filled with people from all over our city who are joining together with us to take a stand for these exploited boys in Ghana. The concert will feature Dove Award Nominee Kristian Stanfill as well as Josh Wilson and Unhindered. We are partnering with a non-profit organization called The Father's House. The Father's House is a rescue home in Ghana that is dedicated to rescuing these boys from lives of slavery and bringing them into a loving environment, where they will experience the unending love of Christ for the first time in their lives. Already, The Father's House has rescued 8 boys, but there are still so many left out there that they can take in! Tickets are priced at $10 for general admission, $25 for early entrance and $15 at the door. 100% of ticket sales will go directly to The Father's House.

Please join with us in covering this event with prayer. Its "Ghana" be great, but we're "Ghana" need your prayers!
